Recently we’ve made a change to the “send a test email” feature due to the EU’s new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Previously if you used personalisation tags in your email you could send test emails using random subscriber data. If you selected this option, you could see your email as one of your subscribers would, with the personalisation tags swapped out for their custom field values.
As a result of GDPR, we’re no longer able offer the random subscriber data option. When you send a test email, personalisation tags will be replaced with fallback terms instead.
Campaigns are unaffected and will continue to work as they always have, with each of your subscribers receiving their own, personalised email, based on their custom field values.
We recognise this GDPR-based change will affect some of your workflows.
Thanks for your understanding.
